Play it Safe!
Children are challenged by play! Using their imagination and boundless energy they learn about their environment and the risks they can take. Playgrounds and recreational areas that are properly inspected and maintained are safe and fun places to be.
Frequent inspections also go a long way to limiting unnecessary insurance claims and legal proceedings. Having the correct inspection programme is of primary importance.
Our Playsafe Programme includes a monthly check of playground apparatus and the surrounding play area, repairing faults and checking on repairs wherever needed.
Regular notes are kept on the age of apparatus and special attention is given to equipment where the warranty is due to expire. Surfacing is carefully checked for its soundness - impact absorbency tests are available as part of an annual inspection. New playground equipment is carefully checked, being assured of compliance with specifications and installation procedure.
Our inspections cover the whole site, not only children's play equipment. Pathways, fences, benches and other features surrounding the area are also checked. We are happy to create personalised Playsafe Programmes, adding any additional requirements and checking procedures, to suit our clients and suit each site.
Playground Maintenance
Routine Play Inspections Report (Weekly)
The Routine Play Inspections Report looks at the equipment’s basic condition, regularly checking for faults due to recent vandalism. Such inspections are carried out by our qualified staff or RPII inspectors. Frequency of inspection varies with each site with many sites requiring weekly visits.
Operational Inspection (Monthly/Quarterly)
With regards to the Operational Inspection, Envirocare carry out inspections of the equipment in more detail, essentially checking for vandalism and minor wear. Such inspections are carried out by our RPII inspectors and are recorded throughout. We carry out a thorough hands on check that links up to the annual inspection report.
Annual Inspection
Our Annual Inspection is carried out by a RPII qualified playground operator, thus making sure that all inspections are valid and acceptable to insurance companies and client’s needs. Envirocare check for vandalism, minor and major wear, long-term structural problems, changes in standard compliance and design practice, risk assessment etc.
