Saturday the 17th August 2013, saw Grange Park Community Gardens’ open day. They welcoming one and all to the green oasis in the middle of one of Preston’s largest housing estates.
Despite the high winds and the weather in general not being on their side, the local community still made it out in support and a wonderful day was had by all. Visitors made the most of the day by taking the opportunity to buy locally produced fresh fruit and vegetables and by enjoying the hot food and drinks from the various stalls which were open throughout the day. Everyone enjoyed the birds of prey display and the day was topped off by listening to the Preston Community Steel Band. The day was a great success and this would not have been possible without the help of Envirocare Grounds Maintenance.

Since then Envirocare Grounds Maintenance have gone one step further. They have donated wood, recycled tree stakes and posts for use in the woodwork workshop. Here, the wood is carefully crafted into planters, benches and garden furniture and lovingly displayed in the Community Gardens.
Even Envirocare’s sister company – Everglades Nursery, also kindly supplied plants and shrubs without any profit.
What a great place of calm and tranquility in what is usually a very build up area and we hope the gardens benefits will continue to grow alongside it.
