Our recycling champions David and John have received a big thank you from the Macmillan Cancer Support Fundraising Office after making a very generous donation of £850, proceeds from their recycling activities. Those of you who follow the Envirocare blog will be familiar with David and John’s commitment to recycling and the support they receive from the retailers on the Alban shopping retail park. For years the pair have salvaged scrap, weighed it in for recycling and donated the proceeds to a variety of local charities.
Macmillan are not the only benefactors this month, David and John have adopted a local dog charity who received a very respectable £250. David has also made a personal fundraising pledge that has unfortunately got off to a bad start. As an avid Bolton Wanderers fan David forfeits 50p for every goal Bolton score but as the club are currently waivering close to the bottom of the Championship table, his donation isn’t mounting up very quickly!
