Maintaining a safe, competent workforce is a priority for Envirocare Grounds Maintenance with significant investment being made into staff training and development and the provision of a wide range of modern tools, plant and equipment, our customers can rest assured that we have the very best people for the job.
Staff are enrolled on a health & safety programme which includes general health and safety, risk assessment, manual handling, fire safety, noise risk assessment, hazardous substances, personal protective equipment, back care, slips and trips and environmental protection along with a DSE assessment and electrical Safety.
New to this year’s training programme is asbestos awareness which requires operational staff to undertake the initial course and then annual refreshers in order to keep their skills current. This is accredited by RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) and on succesful completion, staff are issued with a photo ID card to put the property managers, owners or anyone visiting our customers sites’ mind at rest, that our team members are who they say they are.
It doesn’t end there – other staff training includes Emergency First Aid at Work, PA1 and PA6a spray training, trailer training, plant operations, Train the Trainer (ILM accredited) course and a bespoke grounds maintenance apprenticeship developed in partnership with Myrescough college.
Several of our staff team have joined the company having had previous experience in the grounds maintenance, landscaping and forestry industry. Their skills and experience are supported by a variety of courses including amenity horticulture, tractor driving, dry stone walling, forestry skills, competency of forestry machine operations, brush cutting, landscaping and chain saws to ensure that they are up to Envirocare Grounds Maintenance standard.
