The race began on a high, starting at James’ home team ground Old Trafford.
James ran with several friends and was joined by a human beer bottle enroute – who wanted to be the first beer bottle to run a marathon.
Our James completed the race in good time, and we are very proud, as 24 miles is no mean feat. He was raising money for Christies Charity – a very good cause!!!!
We asked James about the day :
“I had never done anything to this extreme before, but had done 3 10k runs for charity in 2013.
I ended up finishing the race in just over 5 hours but I didn’t have a target time and was just aiming to finish it so I could ensure my charity got the donations I had raised.
I was running for a cause very close to my heart – Christies which is a cancer charity which does amazing research and care for cancer patients.
The total raised was £415 and so was more than I ever imagined to get for doing it.”
- WELL DONE JAMES
