On Sunday 10th May, Accounts Manager James Nelson joined thousands of enthusiastic runners to complete the Greater Manchester 10k run. The 10km race is the biggest of its kind in Europe. In 2014 the Great Manchester Run attracted 40,000 to take part and run through the city’s streets.
James was kindly running in place of his sister’s friend who dropped out two days before the event, not leaving him anytime to train and prepare. Due to the vast amount of people taking part James found it extremely difficult to overtake the other runners and combined with the lack of training, James didn’t feel like he achieve his best time. Having said that, he still completed the race in an amazing time of 53 minutes, well done James!
James chose to step in at the last minute and take part in the race to help his sister across the line who was running for a charity close to their family which was CANCER RESEARCH UK. All the money raised from this event will be used to fund research within the Manchester area.
