Phil and Rebecca rise to the challenge

August 25, 2010

During September 2009 Phil Harrington, Envirocare Director and his step daughter Rebecca Halsall completed the grueling 510 miles Tower 2 Tower challenge supporting Rock FM’s Cash for Kids charity.

Rebecca, who works as part of the Envirocare sales team during her summer vacation from university, accompanied Phil and around 40 other cyclists to the Eifel Tower to begin the six day return journey to Blackpool.  “It was hard going” said Rebecca, “but worth it.  There was a great atmosphere amongst the cyclists but we were all relieved it was over by the time we reached Blackpool.”

The event raised around £56,000 for the Cash for Kids charity, Phil and Rebecca managed an impressive £3000 between them.  Rebecca added “we’ve just completed the Manchester to Blackpool charity bike ride, needless to say it was a doddle compared to the Tower 2 Tower challenge!”
