Rob Completes His 23 Mile Challenge

March 07, 2014

images[2]Last Saturday Rob Holding of Envirocare Preston completed a 23 mile charity walk in aid of the Make a Wish Foundation. The route took the walkers from Bamber Bridge to Blackpool Tower, Rob was amongst a group of around a dozen friends who had chosen to support the Make a Wish Foundation fund raising event. The charity is close to Rob’s heart after the death of his friends daughter who had been given the chance to make a wish come true through the foundation. Rob and his party completed the walk in 10 hours this included a couple of pub stops along the way – but only for an orange juice! Friends and colleagues at Envirocare sponsored Rob to complete his challenge and happily handed over the cash when they heard of Rob’s success.

Make-A-Wish Foundation grants magical wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions. Since being established in the UK in 1986, the charity has granted more than 8,000 wishes. For more information on the work of the charity and how you can get involved or refer a child visit
