North West in Bloom is the voluntary regional organisation that runs the Britain in Bloom competition in Lancashire, Cheshire, Greater Manchester and Merseyside. Shevington and District Parish Council have good reason for a double celebration, not only has the community been awarded the prestigious North West in Bloom gold gilt award, they have been entered into the 2014 Britain in Bloom competition. During 2013 volunteers from the Princes Trust worked alongside members of the local community to make sure the village looked it’s best on judgement day. Envirocare had their part to play in the Shevington success. The bespoke maintenance package ensures regular visits to the parish keep the village in tip top condition, with visits leading up to the judges visit carefully coordinated to ensure a near perfect finish.
Krystyna Pilkington, Clerk to the Parish Council is already hard at work getting organised for the Britain in Bloom competition. Krystyna is really keen to continue to work with Envirocare, the community and local volunteers to make sure Shevington and District Parish have the best chance possible of winning the Britain in Bloom village catagory at this year’s awards.
