Attendees from Head Office and Envirocare GM Preston Depot sat down to a jolly good dinner of English roast beef and Yorkshire pud at the CFC (Chorley Football Club) Victory Park Social Club. The Sportsman’s Dinner gave everyone a chance to catch up with friends and listen to the Guest Speaker David Johnson as he reminisced and entertained us with some sporting stories. There was a hair- raising story about David and his groin injury which had some of the audience cringing as it was a bit below the belt…. the guys had their legs crossed!
David’s list of honor’s include the Texaco cup 1973, European Super Cup 1977, European Cup 1977,1978, 1981, Football League cup 1981, 1982, FA Cup runner up 1977 and Intercontinental Cup runner up 1981.
Norman Prince did a great job as “King of the Comperes”, he kept us all laughing and the evening went swimmingly with some luvlee large bottles of wine and draught beer from the Victory Park bar. Who can beat great northern fun, mixing with friends and supporting your local footy team.
