Well, this week has been busier than usual as Envirocare Grounds Maintenance staff all help in getting together a courier load of wildlife packages ready to send to various sites across the UK
It all started a little while ago when we were approached for advise on how we could help with their “National Save the Bee Campaign”.
Knowing that the bee population has halved in the past 25 years and a third of our food relies on bee pollination. They were in need of volunteers to help make a difference – and being Enviro Care – of course we can help!
We put together lots of packs of Seeds and bulbs, which will all be planted thoughout September by volunteers from the local community in each county. The bulbs will flourish in early Spring which is perfect timing for when the honey bee’s food is scarce. It will also be perfect timing for the Queen Bumble Bee’s coming out of hibernation and out hunting for their suitable nesting spots.
Why don’t you join Envirocare Grounds Maintenance, in this very worthwhile initiative? Buy some bulbs and seeds for early spring flowers, plant them in September and make life a little easier for our British Bee’s this Spring.
