This week we caught up with Ian Morton and his sons Simon and Ben who run some of Envirocare’s operations in the North East. Based just north of Newcastle, they cover an area from Haltwhistle in the west to North Shields in the east. Providing grounds maintenance to property managers, residential estates, industrial, commercial and retail clients, they have had a busy first four months of 2016.
What’s new for 2016?
Since Christmas there’s been an uptick in business, with new long term sites coming on-board as well as the usual flurry of seasonal customers. Keeping existing customers happy and bringing on new clients is carefully managed, to make sure that all receive a consistently high quality of service.
Ian welcomed two new members to the team to provide additional resource between March and October.
Which clients demand the highest standards?
We work for a number of premium car dealerships who are hugely aware of the impact that first impressions can have on business. Some of these dealers have very specific standards to meet, even down to making sure the grassed areas are the right shade of green and that no hint of moss is present on any paved areas. Of course, this is can be a challenge especially when lots of cars may need to be moved to access all areas, but one we love rising to.
Do you work for any unique clients?
All clients have individual requirements, but some more than others. We’re proud to work in partnership with volunteers at the local Marie Curie hospice. Here the challenges of commercial clients are set aside to make sure that the grounds around the hospice provide a nice environment and to ensure we deliver the services in a considerate manner.
